Post-War Changes and Relocation (1945-1952)

  • Foundation and Initial Growth (1918): Trinity Church was dedicated on January 27, 1918, in a building's basement on Twelfth Street. With eleven charter members, the church quickly grew to twenty-three members by the end of the Conference year, with an average Sunday School attendance of fourteen.
  • 25th Anniversary (1943): The church's 25th anniversary was celebrated in January 1943.

  • Community Changes and Decline (1945-1950): Post-1945, church members started relocating, leading to a decline in Sunday School attendance.
  • Decision to Relocate (1950): On June 21, 1950, the congregation voted to move to West McNichols, authorizing the sale of the Twelfth Street property.
  • New Church Construction (1951-1952): Groundbreaking for the new Trinity Church occurred on May 27, 1951, with the cornerstone laid on August 19, 1951. The first worship service was held on October 5, 1952, and the church was officially dedicated on November 2, 1952.

  • Educational Unit Addition (1958): A new educational unit was dedicated on February 2, 1958.
  • Assisting Faith Bethany United Methodist Church (1972-1977): Rev. Melvin Williams founded Faith Bethany United Methodist Church in 1972 and served until 1977. Trinity Church offered its facilities to Faith Bethany during its initial phase.
  • Merging with Faith Bethany (1989): In the fall of 1989, Faith Bethany merged with Trinity to form Trinity Faith United Methodist Church.
